Two very special boys had birthdays this week

In the meadow today we found a large tree branch that had fallen, because of the rarity of this item we had to do lots of negotiating to ensure that everyone had a turn of playing with the tree. 

Our morning began with some classical music, talking about how it made us feel and the different ways we could move our bodies to the music, when it was fast we liked to jump up and down and stamp our feet, when it was slow we did lots of twirling and soft movements with our hands.

The orchestra was very loud and exciting one of our little ones gasped “wow this is brilliant!” It was very special to “perform” with the RSNO and we did a great job singing along in time and learning about the different instruments that make up an orchestra.  “I’m going to be a fiddler one day” announced one of our learners. 

Using the climbing frame helps us to develop our gross motor skills, we are also learning to negotiate space with our friends.

Today we voted on where to go for our school leavers trip. This teaches us about our rights to be listened to and respected.

Today’s creation is the dinosaur hotel, the children used the rocks and sticks to create bedrooms for the dinosaurs while they were on holiday!

Today’s menu is chocolate cake…..yum yum!

Time for a siesta!

We keep cool in the sun by building shady dens and playing in the water tray, the children are very good at getting suncream on and wearing hats, they are learning about the importance of staying safe in the sun.
