Our playroom for children under the age of 2 is situated on the first floor. The room has 2 large windows that let in lots of natural daylight and fresh air. The children who use this room also have access to the garden, and visit the nearby Botanic gardens in the quad and double buggies.
This room caters for children from 6 weeks to 2 years of age, and although there is a general routine to the day, it is fairly flexible so that staff can offer individual care plans for each child.
There are facilities for the storage of both formula milk and breast milk and breastfeeding mothers are given the opportunity to feed their child within the room if they want to.
Clarence House offers a vegeratian meal at lunchtime, and this is cooked on the premises every day. Babies and infants under the age of 2 are given the same meal as the older children, at varying stages of liquidization and mashing. You will find more information about menus in About the Nursery.
