Maggie Plays the Violin

Maggie Plays the Violin

During our last learning plan the children got the opportunity to explore some “real” musical instruments like the one that Maggie is playing so expertly! We want to say a big THANK YOU to all the parents who came in to spend time in the nursery helping to enrich the children’s experience by playing their instruments etc., – Christina, Jim  (and Jim’s band mate), Iain, Rachel, Graham and not forgetting Annie our former pupil. If we have forgotten anyone – sorry!

Monster Music

Today some of us went to see the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. They call it Monster Music because it is so big and so loud.

Today some of us went to see the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. They call it Monster Music because it is so big and so loud.

This is what we did (photo) when we got back. We made our own “monster music” by playing all the percussion instruments!
We have also made our own instruments with yoghurt pots and dried pulses, and we are learning to count out the rythm of our names.
