World Book Day

We love World Book Day and in nursery we change it to World Book Week. All week we arrive at nursery dressed up (if we want to) and bring a story book from home.

Some of us can read, while some of us are learning letters. We know about authors and illustrators and title pages.

These 2 wee ones made this by themselves as boxes were placed in a different place altogether. They spent time moving the boxes around and playing with them in different ways.

Tasting

Today we were trying peaches and custard. 10 out of 18 children were keen to come and try it. Some chose just to try one or the other and only 2 children tried both together. Pleased with today’s tasters !

We Can Play

Soooo, a bit of clearing out ended up being a physical activity for this wee group this afternoon. Using the mats to jump about on first, then using loose parts resources to create an obstacle to jump over, limbo under and roll over. Lasted about 20 minutes and was so much fun!

Hand Washing

We wash our hands before eating lunch and snacks. We are learning to push our sleeves up and rub hands together to spread the soap. After eating we are encouraged to wash our face with a soft cloth. Then we brush our teeth

Our Newest Resource

These balancing blocks arrived today and we were very keen to try them out. Using these will help the development of our gross motor skills. We had some simple rules to follow and most of us managed this easily. Now we need to think where to store them 🫣
