Clarence House Nursery

We spent an hour here during a wet afternoon this week. We are learning about being safe and this was a perfect excuse to put what we are learning about to good use!!

This is the first day of bringing our bikes and scooters to nursery. It was fun and really exciting for us. We cycled around and around the climbing frame. Marcello can go his without stablizers !! Well done Marcello.

Here we are taking part in an activity organized by the Education Team from the Children’s Wood.
We had the chance to help plant strawberry plants, tomato plants, lettuce and cabbage.

The runner beans that we planted are making reception look like a jungle!
So it’s time for them to go home and be planted in a garden or a bigger pot. We are looking forward to the day when the beans are ready for eating.

To embrace Healthy Eating week we have set the children 5 challenges.
One of them is to taste something new in nursery. The children are also bringing in a piece of fruit from home this week.

This is the moment 3 of our “babies” came back as confident primary 1 school pupils and delivered a little presentation to the children due to start school in August.
This was a wonderful experience for the nursery children who looked at the bigger kids in awe!! Hero worship at it’s best. Of course there was the predicted hilarity and a bit of over excitement but it was a great idea.
Thanks to Rachel for suggesting it and thanks to the wonderful primary oners (for 3 more weeks) for being so entertaining!!!

We have been doing loads of planting and growing these past few weeks. We planted our apple tree in the Meadow, also some bedding plants there too. We have planted tomato plants and runner beans. Now we have some sunflower seeds growing. How happy does Sandy look?

We like to visit this park.
We gave it the name of the Banana Park because the first time we went there we had a picnic of bananas with us. So now it is the Banana Park.

This was the best experience ever!!!
This was a science activity which linked in to our current learning focus on Space.
